Who do you think has the best shot at Johan Santana?

I thought the Yankees did but now I think it's the Red Sox. Twins need a center fielder and the Sox have Ellsbury %26amp; Crisp. Sox have Lester and Bucholtz and a larger farm pool. Yankees have Chamberlain who is untouchable, that leaves Hughes and Melky and a few probably not worth talking about. Oh yeah the Mets, well it's the Mets and they never seem to be contenders when the Sox and Yanks are involved.|||Royals.|||go to this link: www.twincities.com/walters for your answer.|||yanks|||I hope that link is right. If we can move Coco and Lester and a couple of prospects it would be worth it. I just wish they'd send Lugo instead of the Jed Lowry. Personally, I hate to see Lester go, but if it gets the deal done I am OK with it.

I am also happy that he got to pitch in the WS, if he's going to the Twins.|||the sox have the better package, but need santana less

the yankees need him more, but can't offer nearly as good of a package

the mets need him more than anyone but have next to nothing to offer that interests the mets

keep an eye on whichever team from los angeles loses the miguel cabrera sweepstakes...|||The RED SOX. they have way more disposable talent and it still won't affect them. They know it will be teh DEATH BLOW to the Yankee so I would expect it to happen. Why would they let the Yankees get back up when you can keep 'em on the ground without losing much. No brainer.|||If Santana has anything to say about it, he may want to go with the Yankees - stadium better suited for lefties. Although, I don;t know what the dimensions of the new Yankee Stadium will be.|||Both the yankees and the red sox have the talent to get this deal done. I think the yankees are a favorite though not by much for three reasons. First is the yankees need santana more than the sox do. if the yankees get santana then they would be only slightly better than the redsox but if the red sox land santana they would be significantly better than the yankee. Second is the red sox gm's have been known to be fairly conservative and they have stood pat at least to this point that they refuse to trade ellsbury or bucholtz. The yankees have been known to be restless and have already said that they would trade melky and either hughes or kennedy to get santana. The last reason is money. The red sox are going to have to pay up to beckett and their young players soon and with limited seating st fenway they will never have the revenue that the yankees do. Given all this though i still think it could go either way.
