What does the lowered price on Santana mean for the Dealings of Erik Bedard?

Looks like the O's are worried about Adam Jones' hip... Will the price come down after the Santana deal?|||I dont think so I think the Sox and Yanks wanted Santana but more so didnt want each other having Santana that is why the Twins realized the Mets are our best deal but the Mariners really need an Ace and will most likely pay up for it|||yes|||santana wasnt such a bad deal after all. peter gammons said that the twins got the number 2, 4 or 6 *cant remember*, and 8th best prospects in the minors. doesnt sound to bad to me.|||The deal probably won't be lowered for Bedard. If it is, then that would certainly surprise me. If it was lowered, the replacements in the deal would be minimal and there shouldn't be much difference.

The reason Santana came so cheap is because Santana told the Twins that he would invoke his no trade clause if he wasn't traded by Tuesday (Jan 29th). The Twins figured that they should at least get something for him now rather than wait and end up only getting a couple draft picks when some other team signs him next winter. The bottom line is that the Twins asked for too much in the beginning and because they alienated teams by asking too much, they ended up settling on something much less than they could have had had they not been so greedy in the first place.|||The Johan Santana trade wont do anything but make the teams that didn't get him realize that there's only one readily available great pitcher left, that's Bedard. With the Mariners deal almost done I doubt anything will change.. if it does the price might actually get higher because the market just got smaller and demand isnt going down.|||A big reason Bedard will hold his trade value is he won't be in line for a 5-7 $20-25 mil a year deal. he puts up good numbers, eats innings, is still young, and is going to be affordable by comparison. No disrespect to Johan, but from a long term and financial standpoint I think Bedard is the better deal. If he could win with the O's think what he could do with an actual MLB team instead of a bunch of guys wearing matching clothes.
