Will the mets make a playoff run next year if they make the addition of Johan Santana? Or will they even make the playoffs? Any predictions?|||the Mets have to very solid team as it is, adding santana would only make them more of a world series competitor. If only the Mets pitchiing staff was better they would be the best team in the national league.|||Even without Santana, they have the pitching talent to do so. Their epic collapse last season had more to do with bad luck and bad vibes than with weakness on the roster.





Atlanta will be weaker this year. The Nats are still the Nats. Other than the Phillies, no one else really has a shot to battle them.

Also - I would like to see Santana with the Mets because I am an Indians fan and it gets him away from the NYY and Boston although the Indians were 5-0 against Santana in 2007, something no other team accomplished.|||The Mets will make a playoff run with or without Santana. There has to be four other pitchers that will have to step up and I don't think anyone will. The hitting and the bullpen is there but the starting pitchers are rough. If Santana does come he will have John Maine, Pedro Martinez who just sucks, and then I have no idea what is after those two.|||That is a huge pickup, with him on the staff they are now the favorite in the NL, yes they have not much around him for starting pitching but when you have a pitcher like that on your staff you will see other people step it up to try and get to his level. Pedro is coming back and he still has enough in that rag arm to give them good innings and get guys out, John Maine is average and so is Perez but with Johan makes them look a whole lot better, plus they did not have to give up any big league guys!|||BREAKING NEWS:
