As a Minnesota sports fan I am worried about the trade rumors swirling around regarding Johan Santana. After trades like Randy Moss for Napoleon Harris and a 1st round pick we used on Troy Williamson I am very concerned about the route the Twins choose to go. I do not think they will resign him so which team/players would be most sensible for the Twins to trade for as well as the assumption that the aforementioned team agreed to trade those players?|||Here's the latest scenarios for the Santana deal. It appears that the Yankees have stepped into the driver's and are offering up Melky Cabrera, Philip Hughes, and two hot minor prospects (Melancon and Tabata). Evidently, Boston fell off the Santana bandwagon because Epstein will not include outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury or pitcher Clay Buchholz, and is still offering up Jon Lester and Coco Crisp.
According to an article at Yahoo Sports, "Theo Epstein made a couple of roster moves, just not the one that would bring Minnesota Twins lefty Johan Santana to Beantown." Also, according to Boston.com, the Red Sox still refuse to add outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury or pitcher Clay Buchholz, their top two prospects, to the deal. Even the Boston media acknowledges the Yankees are the leaders in the Santana sweepstakes.|||Yankees- It seems like they are starting to consider Phil Hughes in a deal. Right now the deal seems like it would be Melky, Hughes, and a prospect.

The Yankees deal seems like the better deal at this point.|||the yankees are going to trade melky and hughes with some money or a draft pick and to fill the outfield hole they will look at jones for of or if they give up cano they will get eckstein|||the Santana to bean town trade will most likely fall through because there is no way that the sox are giving up all that young talent like elsbury and comp thus the yanks will offer them a big fat multi trilion dollar deal and through in hughes for the heck of it. They yankees will get Johan and will se it self losing in the first round of the playoffs for like what third year in a row?|||It will be Johan Santana going to the Red Sox for Coco Crisp, Jon Lester and Clay Bucholz.
Win Win the Twins will get replacements for Santana and Torii Hunter, while the Red Sox better their Pitching Rotation Schilling, Dice-K, Beckett, and Santana.
The Red Sox will be even more dangerous as they are now and by the way they are 2007 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS.

On this site, it says as of today that Phil Hughes has been offered up by Cashman and the rest of the Yankees organization. Sorry...I hate the Yanks too ;)|||At this point in time, it appears that if the Yankees offer Melky Cabrera, Phil Hughes and one or two AA or A prospects, they will be in the best position to trade with TWINS for Johan. This would give the Twins a potential top of the order pitcher and a CF.
